The queen with stolen steps – poems Price for poetry of Editions DACIA – Cluj Napoca – 1978. A poetic atmosphere of freshness, luxuriant decorations, an avalanche of the feelings and a facility using interior rhymes and rhythms, sometimes with the frisky, playful accents or youthful melancholies, dominate this book of poems, greeted by the literary critic. Her native Transylvania was present in a discrete but major way like all the mystery of adolescence. Cezar Ivanescu, Stefan Augustin Doinas, Alexandru Piru, Laurentiu Ulici and Constanta Buzea wrote on her poems of youth, by granting their credit to the young poet. Her literary beginning was awaited besides with curiosity after having gained the majority of the literary prizes devoted to the young writers. “The poetry of her book of literary beginning is directed in force towards the shape of pure lyricism, dreamer, turned towards the nature in a way natural, explosive, with a real hot simplicity, able to explode under the force of the saps and the colours. After the reading I can say that Cleopatra Lorintiu is among the happy fortunate poets of which tiller it comes directly from nature mother (…) ” Valeriu Bargau wrote. |
The hour of the colours – poems The particular atmosphere of childhood in a village of mountain, a little wild beauty of the sheep-folds of Carpathians Mountains, the gardens full with scented lilies, the autumns crammed of chestnuts and apples, the orchards full with the mysteries for the always curious small children and parties with the discovery, the merry cherry trees and “funny” vegetables of the kitchen garden in the countryside, it is that the first book for the children published by Cleopatra Lorintiu and illustrated by Elena Boariu, an artist of the nuances and pastels, refined are always able to translate into illustrations the ludic atmosphere.

The landscape of my absence – poems Editions Cartea Romaneasca -1981. Even 25 years after the publication, “the landscape of which I am absent” remind the book emblematic of his literary career, that which imposed it in the lyric landscape. “There are in this book of Cleopatra Lorintiu a decency of the taste and always operative sensitivity: it is about one of rare volumes deprived of noise, exclamations and the cries. Most beautiful and the most authentic poems which I read lately are in the book “The landscape of which I am absent”. The unit tone and a deep suggestive smoothness differ from a certain tendency of the young literature: its characteristic would be the desire for a violence of images and words and the hardening of lyricism. Such a nostalgia and dissolution, such an evanescence joined together in a poem of love as all the book: a harmony of the pain” writes critic Dan Ciachir. “The poet ,sensitive being, records all with the radar of a butterfly what helps it to avoid with grace the contact with too concrete to which Cleopatra Lorintiu prefers the mode of the evanescence” noted at the time Cornel Regman “How much of the blue of autumn ran out/how much this capital impossible to remake I saw it day after day being profiled provocative the work of an anonymous mason and now, collapsed, collected with dust in the wheelbarrows of the street sweepers impossible to me the memory. /I passed by him each day,/ for a long time. Its timid and lengthened shade was the decoration of so many stories. /I looked it in the dirty light of the rain in the pitiless glare of midday. /I leaned my eyes on him with indifference, suspended by the impression of the importance of this day. /He became my calm confidant,/almost religious,/there, under the vault of the entry,/when I awaited your appearance. /It accompanied the gradual movement my slow fall under north. /and nothing of its completed form three centuries ago by an anonymous mason did not remain in the memory It is there, in the hole with the rubble,/of odd bricks and dust,/impossible to remake. ” (Drawing of Autumn) |

Exercises of holidays – tales for children This collection of tales should have the name of the principal history of the book: News of Molidia but the title was changed by the publisher, by precautions. But, the question arises: it is what Molidia? |
The Terrace with the bay-trees- poems Dacia Editions -1985.This is the most musical of the collections of the poems of Cleopatra Lorintiu. About this poems collection, the writer Valeriu Bargau note: “An elegant and fine booklet, with an exotic title which intrigues and invites to the reading. The terrace with the bay-trees has my opinion a real and final proof of the accomplished natural talent of this poet, by creating the feeling which poetic creation are the framework on which appear foreign music, mysterious which come which by far, of the unknown territories, the marshes of the inspiration. The predisposition (which point out the poems of Alexandru Macedonski for the perfume’s references , the interior musicality, the capacity to create two planes parallels in unquestionable poems… are the signs of nobility of this gracious poetry but at the same time so major.” It is in the “Terrace with the bay-trees” that the poem “The short years” tightened published for the first time, manifest of a spirit rebels, able to create the emotion and to suggest the injustice, true a one time old filigree and an enormous feeling of frustration. Short years Short years, here they are already arrived. Aligned, for themselves, the old directions. Which vain endurance. The direction which I had lost. The false stray direction. The exhausted heart. Reality, so strange. Compact cold. And memory, of the scraps, the scraps. Feathers fly away of an old pillow! |
The House of ivies – prose translation in Russian Edition of the publication abroad 1985 Bucharest.Cleopatra Lorintiu started to write the novel “Abandon” in 1979 but this book missed chance, had an unhappy destiny. Why? writing and writing again , four times, under observation of censure of years `80 during a political totalitarian system and which supervised closely the writers, novel, which tells in the form of a saga the destiny of a Romanian family through the political events who followed after war of `44, was considered too pessimist for a creation of a young writer! It did not correspond to the “requirements” ideological one period which wanted to devote the positive heroes, full with love of life. On the other hand, the characters of this book gave up at the same time: their hopes, their lives, their ideas, until the end when the author even gives up his step despairs to publish its novel. Writers who were at the same time writers of the reviews arts person (as Marin Sorescu, Iulian Neacsu, Ion Cristoiu and Corneliu Strzu) and which wanted to support the young writer , the broad ones published extract from the novel in the reviews arts person. It is the case of this collection of prose, fragment of the novel (but, in a narrative way independent), translated into Russian and published in the” Drafting of publications for the foreigner” by Iulian Neacsu. In the house with ivies, an young woman in existential rout meets by chance an old woman, only and eccentric, which lost his/her son. Little by little, this one starts has to be convinced itself that the young woman was the mistress of her son missing while trying to create another reality… |
Almost imaginary – poems Editions Cartea Romaneasca -1987. “To escape from the dream, to abstract themselves with the landscape, to separate from the books seem very difficult for the character of the poetry of Cléopatra Lorintiu, but the bath of reality, the dive in the daily newspaper burning leads it to the marvellous discovery that the life – almost imaginary – has significant fictional contents. The development is meticulous and the frantic handling of the concepts – in the poems one speaks even about ornery imagination, transfiguration, contemplation – led to the conceptualization comes out from it from reality. The fabulous perception of the world, the ludic spirit, the mechanism of the diminutives, the socratism of initiations comes from the childish universe. The love is also a play and a childhood, the slalom of the existence him also (“life – a hind reached in the traffic of the motorway”) just like final breathing. If I could keep you Little angel near ego Miniature with the eyes Levantines… If I could only keep you one child. And that the thought left flip-flop On the hot stones of the summer, floater in the dense air Some share, very close to an imaginary border With the deadened guards. In this miniature full with grace one clearly sees dissociating the fact that before being poetic, the lyric ideation wants to be an anti-rhetoric of the love, childhood, play. It is the ideal of the poetry of Cleopatra Lorintiu to confess itself without making confessions, to tell without narrativity, to make poetry without lyricism. It is the alternative of its “opening” in the set of failures where it employs white parts. (Fragment of a text written by Aureliu Goci) |
There is a clear place – essays about Bistrita Nasaud and Transylvania country Editions Turism Sport -1989. It is almost a duty to remember, a book of notations on an area to which the author feels particularly attached: Mountain Bistrita-Nasaud, one told in Transylvania of North, with a particular historical destiny. The Valley of the Sums in charge of history, memories of times of the Romaine Empire whose “files” was there low, the fights of the Rumanian peasants to the Middle Ages, history more recent and bloody during the two world wars. Poetic prints or evocations of the personalities of the place: the folk Pop Ion Reteganul, the poet George Cosbuc, the revolutionist of 1848 Andrei Muresanu, the author of the National anthem, poet Veronica Micle, born in Nasaud, will supplement a drawing full with notations mixed. There is also a “nostalgia”, a need to return towards the native land, a fate of attachment particular to the reference marks of Transylvania, a cradle of the humanistic spirit. It is large the critic and trainer of opinion Mihai Ungheanu which noticed the publication of the book in one year very difficult for freedom of expression in Romania, 1989. : “There are pages full with emotion, disconcerting, which evoke for example the atrocities of the Hungarian occupation imposed by the Diktat of Vienna. There are also nostalgic pages. „There is a place clear” it is a book interesting, instructive, writing with heart, love for the truth and large an interest for the history and the culture. (1989) The book, which borrows its name of worms famous of Grigore Vieru) (with all the corrections of the censure and the omissions particularly related to the truths history which the leaders of the moment did not like) was diffused in the bookshops, one month before the event of the revolution of 1989. |
The love does not finish – novel LUNA Editorial House -1992. Even if the voice of the narrator is that of a young doctor, with dimensions female one is not at all absent in this novel! One speaks about the friendship and the love and also about the sometimes fragile border between the two. All starts with three friends during holidays passed, with the mountain, far from temptations of the urban life, the ideal place for introspections, memories and confessions. The atmosphere is charged more and more, each one of them is revealed little by little, something will occur and, the young doctor, slips of the friendship towards the love for Unda, the paradoxical and mysterious woman of his friend. The daily life of Unda is neither simple nor easy has to include/understand, marked rather with a question which seems essential to him: it is what essence in the life? To like or be liked? To see which the end of this history tightened which brings us to Rome, Bucharest and in the Caribbean. |
The small young girl who I was – Romance for children Editions Intact -1992. Illustrated by Octavia Taralunga.© She is small, lives in a village of mountain in the north of Transylvania. Filled with wonder by the beauty at nature, astonished by the actions by the daily life, curious, full with joy and under the charm with the small secrecies, the friendships of childhood… The little stories of this girl are the same ones of all the children: naive silliness, dreams, hopes. And at the same time they so particular, are impregnated by the discrete charm of the life in the village located on the river of Somes. It is humor and the glance astonished towards the life by the adults, the daily discovery which reigns on these stories full with heat. A book on the childhood which gave flight to the children of yesterday and of today with the illustrations of Octavia Taralunga. Childhood |
Tea of the lovers – poems Editions Press Quadrat -1993. The expressivity, the science of balance between introspection and the counterpart of reality, the availability of imaginary always in guard and ready to crystallize in refined, dense compositions by the gravity and the diction of problematization are the ingredients of the talent of Cleopatra Lorintiu. There is a fever, an alarm, an almost irreversible existential hitch in “The tea of lovers”. The psychoanalysis of this phenomenon carries out the poet to call upon remedies as “That the light of the moon takes, this tired facet of our heart includes/understands”. The texts written and published during the dictatorship surprise not only by their artistic value, but also by an open dissidence against the dogmas of the socialist realism which condemned the writers to an ornery happiness. Being the aware of its twilight and marginalized state, “while smiling inevitably in the margins of the winter”, Cleopatra Lorintiu distils its worms in concentrated statements, a kind of exorcism applied to a demonic, bloody reality. Disenchantment, abrupt clearness, the alarm clock of an externality cold, abusive, given up by the mystery. The worms even becomes clear notation, incredible cutting. Captive in the network of the cores of the semantic disenchantment, the poetry of Cleopatra Lorintiu approaches that of Montale. (fragment of a critical text written by Geo Vasile) |
Somebody of the past – poems and short stories Editions LUNA -1995. The idea of a book of poems and short stories put under the same sign of the memory materializes in the collection “Somebody of the past”. The short stories are rather possible “cinematographic” subjects remained in the phase of outlines: an adventure which turns badly, (“Loneliness”), a meeting surprising before the Christmas between a rounded actor and a young middle-class woman of province, (“One winter in company of the Earl”), a delicate history of platonic love between a mother and the driver of his husband (“Santa Lucia”), couples which tear (“The trouble of astronomy”), an young woman divided between two passions, one for a young actor and the other by his very old partner of scene (“The Sadness before snowing ”); an eminent musician who became fool (“Does not import what I knit”) a short meeting who finish badly (Rain by the night), a misunderstanding moving and naive (“Cairo! Cairo! ”). “The prose of Cleopatra Lorintiu wakes up helped by the register of the irony. There are sensitivities which disappear like snowflakes on the heated frying pan of reality and which express the portraits of a province to include/understand with difficulty, as it is actually. Stories of love written or drawn each evening, concerns of a doctor during his holidays in the countryside in front of the holes black of the universe, the fear of died of a pilot of plane, the poetic art and family quarrels especially, all its subjects are short breathings, but which inspires a haste, a precipitation of living and writing, one upsetting heat, that of prose. Small steps, but, so much of colours! ” Text published by Grete Tartler, in the literary review Luceafarul: 1998 |
Swell of dreams – tales The book takes back some tales old and adds funny stories, written sometimes from the point of view of the child.

Pages of interview and of documentary, the rare and new documents on writers, scientist or artists, evocations and dialogues, comments and recollection and some notes of the strange voyages make the substance of this book published in 2002. “Which could be the direction of the interview today and if it is not a wasting of life ?I wonder today… The question falls a little late because I already practiced the kind almost about thirty years. A valid explanation (an excuse?) could be the desire to meet people, people of exception and knowing of advantage about them, their lives, their way of life” wonders the author in the word of before this book which had its success of public. “I acknowledge that I had the chance of the great meetings, of the memorable, unforgettable meetings. Each time when I was likely to hear memorable words, a history out of the common run, the impressive memories. I was happy. It was, indeed, the proof that the interview could be a true exit of loneliness. ” Here are some of the evoked personalities: Ion Vlasiu, Romulus Vulcanescu, Concealed Serghi, Manole Filitti, Nicolae V.Iliesiu, Gabriela Manole Adoc, doctor Dan Gavriliu, Gabriel Popescu, Florentina Mosora as of interview with Gert Hoffbauer from Wien, Michele Trimarchi and Luciana Papeschi from Rome, Birgit Emborg of Denmark, Guy Pariseau of Canada, Marina Krilovici of Athens, Georges Rosetti of Paris, Livia Nita, Ezio Gribaudo of Turin, Ovidiu Bojor, Edith Bretan Bovit of Washington, Toni Victor Moldovan, Ion Salisteanu, Paul Bran. |
Breath transitory – bilingual poems – Romanian – French Editions Axa – 2002.Volume contains poetries of anthology and also poems new. “There is in the poems of Cleopatra Lorintiu the feeling of a simple and tragic song, sound time. ” wrote a literary critic. This time the poems underline the feeling acute “generation lost”, placed at the crossroads of the aspirations misled and indifferent reality, in a wild company and in disorder, which lives in the rout and the confusion of the values. When the written memory would be disappeared When one would have communicated by telepathy When all would have been different, otherwise, another thing These pages pressed by the life and blood Will they still count? When “life” and “blood” do not mean anything And “nothing” will have any more direction.Overcome generation You are not even it! You bait yourself to have direction Under the invading reign of the nonsense. I will write for deaths, for the past |
